Against Postmodernism

I am a truth relativist, but I am NOT a Postmodernist. In fact, I hate Postmodernism with a passion.

Postmodernism purports that truth is subjective, not relative. The difference between the two is this:

  • Truth subjectivism asserts that a truth is a personal preference or personal experience;
  • Truth relativism asserts that a truth is relative to a paradigm.
It has been debated whether truth subjectivism is a type of truth relativism, since personal preference or experience is arguably a type of paradigm. However, it does not matter; my truth relativism is not subjectivistic, and Postmodernism affirms a specific type of truth subjectivism, not just any kind.

What is Postmodernism? I would define it as Godless Satanism. Satanism is essentially a lust for hedonism, greed, and power. Postmodernism is not only a metaphysical view about truth, but also a mature and complete philosophy. But what exactly is its metaphysical view of truth? For Postmodernists, truth is specifically power used as a means to determine what is right.

The ideology of degeneracy needs an argument against truth, trustworthiness, and talent. Degeneracy simply means values that would destroy a society if they became the norm. The words "degenerate" and "evil" are interchangeable. The philosophy behind the argument for degeneracy is Postmodernism itself. Postmodernism says that truth is subjective in order to convince people that reality is negotiable. It replaces truth with power as the means to determine what is right. Emphasizing power justifies the use of power to implement degeneracy, which is the ultimate goal.

I will end this blog with a disclaimer. Namely, core values are personal preferences and so I cannot tell anybody else what their core value should be. My primary basis for attacking Postmodernism is that degeneracy is not my personal core value. To be clear, I distinguish between morals and values. Morals are actions, and values are states of being. I think morals are relative (not subjective), whereas I think values are subjective.

Verdict: I firmly reject Postmodernism.
